Thanksgiving holiday is usually celebrated in the American home focused on food and wine, but people have forgotten that it was a day set aside to give thanks to God for what he has provided.

In early history, as with the Pilgrims, securing food was a time consuming undertaking performed by skill and faith. The pilgrims who sought spiritual Christian freedom journeyed by faith to the shores of America and then survived a winter with sparse food supplies. They survived by faith and prospered thus giving thanks to the Lord. This Thanksgiving celebration coincided with the harvest. In the same way, immigrant Italians journeyed from Sicily to the shores of the new land and found a harsh winter of discrimination and menial jobs but survived and prospered to where they could give thanks to God for the harvest and blessing of a life of freedom, family, food and faith in Christ in the new America. The Italian culture and community made many contributions to the fabric of America and the quality of life.
