The Antiquarium di Entella, been born from a profitable collaboration between the Comune of Contessa Entellina, the Laborat.orio di Topografta Storico-Archeologica of the Ancient World of the Advanced Normal School of Pisa and the Soprintendenza for the Cultural Assets and Acclimatizes of Palermo, with this Guide procured from M. Cecilia Parra, it becomes a rich and valid educational benefit.

 

To predispose the Guide of a Museum is surely not an easy task. It draws in fact to satisfy the requirements of a public of varied cultural intellect and without renouncing the scientific rigor of the information and the opportunity to offer a profitable point of reference for the specialists.

 

It seems that the objective, in this case, has been happily reached. The adopted outline is based on a sequence of cards, rich of their presentation and equipped with diagrams accompanied by punctual explicative explanations. Therefore, with the exception of how much it happens for the greater part of the Guides of the Museums, whose reading ends for being sent back to a moment successive to the visit, in this case the visitor is able to consult easily the text that covered accompagnera I along it exposition and potra to acquire with immediacy all the essential information.

 

For the archaeologists, this Guide also has the non negligible advantage to supply, together with the scientific data, punctual references to the classic sources and the epigrammatic documentation. Moreover, it should not be forgotten that they give you the synthesis being introduced of the long research work, and of the elaboration of the data of excavation, of study retrieved by individuals or of the classes of materials;  a scientific engagement that in all these busy years of all the collaborators who have been involved and engaged in the archaeological exploration of Fortess of Entella (Rocca di Entella).

 

A particular appreciation goes to the Comune of Contessa Entellina that, promoting and financing the Museum Guide, it demonstrates once again the constant engagement for the culturate valorization of the patrimony of the territory of their competence.

The publication of the Guide of the Antiquarium di Entella marks one by now new stage in the ultradecennial engagement net territory entellino of the Laboratory of Storico-Archeologica Topography of the Ancient World of the Advanced Normale School of Pisa.

 

It answers the desire of our mission of excavation to put it logical historical patrimony and archeological recovered to disposition of piei the wide possible public and coincides with the illuminated ones political cultural of the administrators of the Comune of Contessa Entellina that l’Antiquarium has intentional and that at same they guarantee the daily existence.

 

Not to dismiss these pages, also to name of my unparalleled collaborators, than a lot they have given for the search on the land, the publication of the material and the realization of this Antiquarium - than delta is distinguished just for the rare circumstance presentation of reperti from part of the same protagonists of the searches - I wish that new discoveries can soon render necessary preparation of new sections.
